DIY: One in a Melon

Now that it is summertime, we eat (water) melons very often. Tessa enjoys scooping up a melon every morning. This is delicious, of course, but if you are having visitors, this is also fun to make…

You can make a fruit salad a lot happier with these hearts! That is why we have made a little DIY for you, showing you how you can make this in just a few minutes. We use watermelon for this example. But of course you can use any other fruit or vegetable you like. Think of an apple, cucumber or kiwi.

This is what you need:

  • Fruit or vegetables (in this case watermelon)
  • Cutter moulds
  • Sharp knife

This is how you make it:

  1. Lay out all the supplies so that you can get started.
  2. Cut the melon into a number of slices.
  3. Press the mould into the melon. Sometimes you have to press a little harder. If the melon will stick to the mould when you take it out. Then use your finger to push the heart out of the mould.
  4. And your hearts are ready! Now you can use them in a fruit salad, on a smoothie or make a fun treat by threading different shapes onto a skewer!
