Cinnamon Roll Breakfast

by Tessa Moorman

Dessert for breakfast

An oatmeal that tastes like a cinnamon bun. Warm out of the oven, deliciously smelling of cinnamon with a creamy layer to top it off. This breakfast is a dream and an absolute must! It’s quicker to prepare than you think. In fact, you don’t have to do as much as you would when making oatmeal in a pan, because the oven does all the work. So you can crawl back to bed…

With a drop of cinnamon essential oil

For the topping, you can choose a vegetable yoghurt, such as coconut, soya or almond yoghurt. Or you can go for a vegetable cream cheese, based on soya or oats. Both are delicious, but are made extra tasty by adding a drop of cinnamon essential oil. Make sure you use a 100% pure essential oil from a brand you trust and know you can take it.

Cassia of Cinnamon

Cinnamon essential oil comes in two varieties: cassia or cinnamon bark. Both can be used instead of cinnamon in dishes. They come from two different plants and cinnamon bark is a bit more expensive than cassia. For both, start with one drop! Essential oils are very concentrated and just a few drops will give you an explosion of flavour and health benefits.

Cinnamon essential oil is also deliciously thirst-quenching in a large glass of water. Want to learn more about essential oils? Check out our latest book Cooking with Essential Oils or come to an online Introductory Masterclass.
